Outline

This week calls for celebration as we have reached the end of our long-form coverage of the Intellum research report. Next week we will feature brand-new research! Until then, we are answering the question:

What is the most valued capability in platforms designed to deliver education programs?

Let's get to it!

Tip the scale ⚖️

Companies adjust to changes in consumer demand and the overall market. Sometimes they do this with shrinking budgets and leaner teams. Leaders often must find ways to maximize their investments.

The decision to deliver and maintain an education program (especially one at scale) is often a choice that requires a large investment in both human and financial resources. So, when looking to trim costs, initiatives that don't directly contribute to increased revenue can often be first on the chopping block.

In Intellum’s recent study, respondents selected their most valued platform capability from the following options:

  • Assessments
  • Direct Learning
  • Branding
  • Bottom-Up Personalization
  • Top-Down Personalization
  • Scalability
  • Measurement

Although assessments are named the No. 1 most important platform capability, the data shows companies that value assessments are least likely to see increased revenue (27%).

Interestingly, organizations that prioritized “scalability” were most likely to see increased revenue (42%).

Pets of Learning Science Weekly

Our next pet comes all the way from Hawaii! Our reader, Ayla B, says “Lilikoi is an Australian Shepherd and Poodle mix. Her name means "passion fruit" in Hawaiian. Lilikoi loves fans, car rides, and squeaky toys. She is not a fan of garbage trucks. Lilikoi is currently enrolled in puppy class, and loves to learn!” What a sweet pup.

Thanks for sharing!

Wondering why we’re including animal photos in a learning science newsletter? It may seem weird, we admit. But we’re banking on the baby schema effect and the “power of Kawaii.” So, send us your cute pet pics -- you’re helping us all learn better!
