Outline

The Learning Science Weekly Podcast brings together thought leaders, researchers, creatives, authors, and scientists to chat about the science of learning and how it can be applied in corporate and customer education.

How do we learn? What are the most effective ways of educating? And how can the science of learning transform education? In this week's episode, we had a conversation with Luke Yoquinto. He discusses his book called "Grasp: The Science Transforming How We Learn."

Guest: Luke Yoquinto

Luke Yoquinto is a science writer who covers learning and education, as well as aging and demographic change in his role as a researcher at the MIT AgeLab. His work can be found in publications such as The Washington Post, Slate, The Wall Street Journal, and The Atlantic. He is a graduate of Boston University’s science journalism program.

Luke Yoquinto is co-author of the book titled Grasp: The Science Transforming How We Learn. Co-written with Dr. Sanjay Sarma, MIT’s Vice President of Open Learning, the book explores cutting-edge neuroscience research into how human beings best absorb and retain information, as well as new best practices for educators in an Internet-connected world. The goal of the book, says Yoquinto, is “to make learning as accessible and cognitively user-friendly as possible”—an ambition that applies not only to school-age students but also lifelong learners.
